Ride into the backcountry of Chugach State Park, a 495, 000 acre
wilderness on the edge of Anchorage that serves as a backyard
playground for residents and visitors. Enjoy sweeping views of
the Alaska Range, Cook Inlet, Mt.Susitna (the “Sleeping Lady”)
and Denali (Mt. McKinley). Spruce woods and mountain hemlock
along the trail give way to open tundra and jewel-like alpine
lakes. Moose, wild sheep and bears are frequently sighted during
this short and easy horseback riding adventure. Expect 4-5 hours
of riding each day covering a round trip total of 18 miles.

Resurrection Pass Trail - 3 days, 2 nights, $750/person
Embark on a backcountry horseback riding adventure through
spruce and birch forests where moose and bear can be sighted at
any time as the country transforms from a broad, timbered valley
to open, alpine tundra. The high country gives way to crystal
mountain lakes surrounded by panoramic vistas of the surrounding
Kenai Mountains as this popular trail begins to descend into the
heart of the Kenai Peninsula. Available July 1 thru October.
Johnson Pass Trail - 3 days, 2 nights, $750/person
Explore this section of the Historic Iditarod Trail that winds
through a narrow valley past streaming waterfalls, gradually
climbing towards Johnson Creek Summit where the country opens to
reveal two picturesque lakes surrounded by steeply sloping
mountains. The expansive alpine pass descends into densely
wooded spruce forest to the shore of Trail Lake near the
community of Moose Pass. Available July 1 thru October.
Resurrection/Johnson Trail Combo - 6 days, 5 nights,
$1,400/person
This ultimate horseback adventure combines both trails to cover
60 miles with a “rest stop” in civilization at the halfway
point. Includes overnight stay at comfortable lodge with private
bathroom, shower and restaurant meals. Expect 6-8 hours of
riding each day with the exception of day five ‘layover’ at
Johnson Lake. Available July 1 thru October. 5 days, 4 nights $1500/person
